Labor Day is an occasion to honor the achievements of working people. For many Americans it is also the last long weekend off before the end of summer. It is a day to spend time with family and friends and an opportunity to gather as the new school year starts.
Let us not forget that this day is a marker set to acknowledge the social and economic achievements of organized labor; a marker that honors the contributions that American workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well being of our country.
Today and every day moving forward, together, the New Mexico Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO and its affiliated unions and organizations will continue to push for social and economic justice for all workers. We are committed to advancing commonsense solutions that allow more workers across New Mexico to enjoy full and happy lives.
